Jojo’s Story

“You can’t stay here now, Jojo.”

This story is set in the battlefield. The main character is a boy, Jojo. One day, all the villager except Jojo was killed by somebody. He hid not to be found by the enemy, but he was found by people and was taken to a place. He made a certain decision.

Frankly speaking, this story is pretty heavy. But it has a very important theme. I think I’m lacky to be living in peacetime. If I was living in wartime, I may have lost my family. But today there are still wars around the world, so there are many people who is suffering sorrow in the war. I hope the wars around the world will end as soon as possible.

A Picture to Remember

Then he turned his head and she saw a tatoo of a flower, red poppy, on his neck. (p7).

The main character, Cristina Rinaldy, was almost killed many times in this story just because she met bank robbes by a chance. I thought what an irrational thing! I never want to be involved such a thing.

The pictures in this book are like a watercolor painting. It’s good. I like the front cover design. It is a work painted by Claude Monet. (Coquelicots à Argenteuil) This picture also gives us a hint. I enjoyed this book because I like Claude Monet too. You should read this book, Everyone.

The Man from Nowhere

The Washida Sands – a soft sand desert in north east Oman. (P.5)

In this story, a family met with a disaster on the sands. The father, Christos Bardis went to ask for help leaving his wife and child, but he lost his consciousness when he was helped by a boy. What would be their fate……?

Frankly speaking, I was excited at this story! They were in trouble because of meeting with a disaster, and to make matters worse, Christos Bardis lost his consciousness…! I was wondering what the consequence would be as I was reading this book. This story will make you excited too! Try to read it!

The New Zealand File

Ian Munro was lying on a beach on the Fijian island of Viti Levu. (p.6)

Ian Munro was a British spy working for British Intelligence. He was called up by his boss during holiday. When I think of spies, I imagine spies living a quiet, solitary life. But in this story, he enjoyed his holiday in Fijian beach. He was involved many serious troubles. The last is exciting.

This book has some good pictures, so I enjoed reading it. It’s easy to understand. Fundamentally, books of Cambridge series are interesting. I’ d also like you to try other story.

Whithin High Fences

Nancy was a woman who worked at a facility which was for asylum seekers. Her boy friend, Tom, displeased at her working. But she also got tired of him and living with him. One day, the man whom she met at the facility changed her life. His name was George.

After finished this book, I was glad to find George’s innocent. And I thought Tom is a bad man. He played a mean trivk on her. I never want to do such a thing even if I have a frustrating thought. I think this story is a wonderful romance. I’d like you to read at least once.

The Double Bass Mystery

‘Welcome to Barcelona!’ Frank Shephered said to us all.

The main character, Penny Wade, belonged to an orchestra group in England which was called the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. She played the double bass. One day, her double bass disappeared. And what’s even worse, the orchestra manager, Frank Shephered wad found dead. What on earth happened?

After I finished this book, I wanted to play some musical instrument. In this story, Penny loved her double bass and treated it carefully. So, she was overjoyed to find it. The criminal is a person whom I can expect in the early stage of this story. This story is not bad, I think.

Circle Games

Everybody called him ‘Quick Man Tan’ when he was a young man.(p.4)

This book has five stories. All of them are related to circle. First story is about a dance. Second one is about a wheel. Third one is about clay. Fourth one is about a trishaw. Last one is about somthing like a CD. This book includes  stories like SF. I was touched by some of five stories.

It’s easy to read this book because it is a collection of short stories. It has some pictures in it, so I enjoyed very much. I’d like you to read this book!

Different Worlds

Mum liked me to feel the vibration of her music, you see. That’s because I can’t hear her music. My ears don’t work. I’m deaf. (p.7)

I can hear. Sometimes I think, “what if I was  deaf?” I can’t imagine the situation. In this book, a deaf girl is fall in love with a boy. A deaf girl and a boy loving music. But two loves each other even  though there are any difficulties.

After finishing this book, I was impressed verymuch. I hope to meet a wonderful man who understands me. And if I can meet such a man, I want to try to understand him too.

One Day

Moreland Road is a street in the city of Bath, England. (p.6)

There are many characters in this story. Each of them has a problem. This story’s key point is a letter. Have you received any important letters? What if you can’t receive one which is supposed to reach you? In this story, each character’s letter is burned. What do you think will be their final outcome?

It has very nice illustrations, and it’s easy to understand. I’d like you to read this book!
